Jordanairwave 2011 Design
February 1, 2011
I have finally finished my 2011 design, it took longer then I wanted to because I came up with a design then I walked away from it. As it happens when I came to look at it after a week, I really did not like it so through it all out.
My 2011 design I wanted to incorporate a texture, and use HTML5 and CSS3, but I also did not wanted to go over board with elements on the page. I think my design is not over crowded, its not going to be every ones taste but that is the beauty of having my own site, If I like it then its OK.
Other changes I have made in my 2011 design is that I have got rid of the use of wordpress plug-ins and used my own code to bring in my Twitter and Flickr feed.
I was planning on showing my Gowalla feed as well but after searching over the internet I found no way of doing it, the one solution I did find is no longer available to download. The problem seems to be with the Gowalla API its self and that it keeps changing all the time, I will have to conduct more research and have a go at building my own solution.
On this version of the site I added to more pages at the bottom of the site, this was so as to not attract from the main content, which is my website, blog and podcast. On these pages I have put up some graphic design and video work I have completed over the years. I did have these on my site back when I first started it but got told to take them off, Great advice but I thought I could put them back down at the bottom so potential employers can see a wider range of my work.
